This diamond was extracted from South Africa around the early 2000s. It has set a record for the most expensive per carat price for a G-colored white diamond.

Large diamonds are getting rare. This fact will increase the demand for them as more people gain more wealth due to the massive economic growth around the world. This will keep happening due to the modern technology and the interconnectivity of countries. And in return, we’ll witness wealth and diamonds for many.

The Red Cross

Christie’s auction has also seen incredible wins for other famous diamonds, including the famous fancy intense yellow diamond called Red Cross. This diamond weighs 205 carats with a final and impressive bid of 14.3 million dollars. Christie’s also notes that a portion of this sale would be given to the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The Red Cross diamond is a legendary stone from the mines of De Beers in South Africa and is over a century old. It was mined in 1901, and after over a hundred years later, it set a world record for a fancy intense yellow diamond during this auction.

Colored diamonds are the rarest version of the diamond gemstone family. The associative color of the diamond is white, but colorless is the exact definition of its color. Vastly available are, therefore, slightly colored diamonds. And it gets scarce and valuable when it has a fully defined color. Another determinant factor is when its weight is more significant than 5 carats or 1 gram.
